The reagents for the reverse osmosis systems

The reagents for the treatment of the reverse osmosis plants are produced according to the Technical Specifications TS U 24.6-34155997-005:2007 under the trademark PuroTech and are intended for the following:
  • antiscalants for the reverse osmosis plants to prevent the formation of different types of scale;
  • washing of the membrane deposits (non-organic salts, ferriferous deposits, sulphate, silica, biological and organic fouling and so on);
  • disinfection and conservation of membranes;
  • to add the alkalinity to the water and to prevent the corrosion of the pipe-line after the reverse osmosis plants in the different spheres of industry, including the enterprises producing the drinking water, fruit drinks, juices, medicines and so on.
The reagents for the treatment of the reverse osmosis plants are the solutions of the active components of the different active substances according to the technical specifications and of the other necessary additives in the demineralized water.

Depending on the functionality and application field of the products the following types of the reagents are produced:

Type 1 – the antiscalants preventing the scale formation because of the carbonates, sulphates and fluorides. Depending on the active substance the reagents of the type 1 can be of the following types:
  • F – the antiscalants based on the phosphonates;
  • P – the antiscalants based on the polymers;
  • S – the antiscalants based on the sulfuric acid;
Type 2 – the biocides for the membrane disinfection and control of the growth of the bacteria, fungi and algae. Depending on the active substance the reagents of the type 2 can be of the following types:
  • H – the biocides based on the peracetic acid;
  • I – the biocides based on the isothiazoline;
  • B – the biocides based on the bromine-containing compounds;
  • A – the biocides based on the active chlorine.
Type 3 – the preserving agents for the membrane disinfection and conservation based on the bisulphites which neutralize the free chlorine, improve the organoleptic characteristics of the filtrate, ensure the reliable storage of the membranes.

Type 4 – the reagents for the treatment of the membrane systems. Depending on the active substance and the medium reaction, there are the following reagents for the treatment of the membrane systems of the type 4:
  • S – the acidic detergent compositions for the washing of the non-organic salts and ferriferous deposits;
  • A – the alkaline detergent compositions for the washing of the sulphate, silica, biological and organic fouling;
  • D – the reagents for the disinfection washing;
Type 5 – the reagents for the water pretreatment before the reverse osmosis plants which improve the formation of scale, make easier the water filtration, form the flock deposits and coagulating suspended solids.

Type 6 – the alkalizing agents for the water – the reagents for the correction of the hydrogen ions concentration (pH) – the inhibitors of corrosion and scale of the pipe-lines after the reverse osmosis plants.
